Hi 022 students,

     The quiz on Tuesday will be strictly over the Excel 97 and Visual
Basic for Applications (VBA) macro material that has been covered so far
in the class.  This includes:

     1. lecture notes and demonstrations for Excel/VBA/Word stuff

     2. handouts of Excel and Word macros, such as WordArt animation, etc.

     3. Lesson 1 of textbook.

     4. Lesson 2 of textbook - Make A Macro Do Complex Tasks 
                   (But only what was covered in lab - Pages 25-38)

            a.  Task One:  opening a report file  (Pages 27-34)
            b.  Task Two:  filling in missing labels (Pages 34-38)

     5. Lesson 9 Launching Macros With Events (Only pages 205-210)
            a.  Creating a custom toolbar
            b.  Creating custom toolbar buttons

     6. Your two Excel 97 macro assignments:
            a.  Racing Rectangles macro/VBA code
                 i.  the Drawing toolbar (rectangles, lines, nudge 1 pixel
                       up or down or right or left with Draw menu or
                       nudge 1 pixel by using ctrl + arrow key
              
                ii.   Forms toolbar (for command Button) and getting
                        a button.  Assigning a macro to a button
                        (Reset Race and Race Em buttons)

         b.  The custom toolbar assignment (Tools menu Options)
                 i. toggle formulas, toggle scroll bars, toggle grid
                ii. toggle and the NOT operator - see Lesson 1 of text
               iii. saving or attaching a custom toolbar to the workbook
                      it was created in (see handout of assignment)


    This is plenty for the 25 minute quiz on Tuesday.  

    The quiz will NOT cover any PhotoSHop, PERL or chaos/Unix and web page
      stuff.      ---

    You will receive a diskette on Tuesday for turning in your assignments
      for the Racing Rectangles and the Show/Hide Options custom toolbar.
