Hello 088 students, VE, A, and MG Visual Effects, VE Animation, and A Motion Graphics MG http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/AE/1stFiveSPR2011.html is the updated calendar for our class. There will be a review of this week up there sometime before the 3 day holiday weekend is over. We'll do our first examples from the textbook starting next week. Unless your computer is NOT working during our hands-on classes, you do not have time to take extensive notes. I will give you time to write down what is most important by writing it on the board myself. 1. When we go through examples from the actual textbook you will be able to go back and read and take notes from the pages of the book and redo the entire exercise or portions of it you want more practice or understanding of. 2. You will also be expected to read over certain parts of the book or watch an online tutorial video BEFORE certain classes. That is often called a PRELAB assignment. If your computer has problems on any given day, guess what? That is going to happen from time to time in Lang 213 and any computer lab on campus. That is or should be A GOOD THING. You can watch and take more notes and you may actually learn as much or MORE than if you had a working computer that particular day. That may happen from time to time, so make the best of it and work with and watch someone else and take lots more notes than you would have been able to if the computer was working that day. See also: http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/AE/04/emailAElabs.txt which is a link from Week 1 Tuesday 1/11/11 on the class calendar. Keep in mind the HOURS are NOT YET UPDATED for Spring 2011 yet! KAB 250 is Kamerick Art Building 250 and there are directions how to get there. LNG 213 is our classroom. ITT 108 is called the Production House and is open 8-5 Mon thru Fri and has After Effects on most all of its machines. ITT is the old East Gym, ITTC is the new name of the building near the Maucker Union. http://www.cs.uni.edu/~jacobson/AE/1stFiveSPR2011.html Mark
