Homework Assignment 6
Quick Fun with Strings
CS 1510
Introduction to Computing
Fall Semester 2014
Due: Friday, October 17, at 10:00 AM
Introduction
I am posting this assignment a little late, so let's keep it
simple and open-ended. Have as much fun as you like.
Spec: Mad Libs
Do Problem 2 on Page 225 of your textbook, with a few small
additions:
- At least one of the placeholders must be a name or
proper noun.
- Be sure to strip any blank spaces at the front or end
of the string entered by the user.
- Be sure that words are capitalized properly in the
story. For example, if a placeholder is the first
word in a sentence, capitalize it. Otherwise, regular
words should be lowercase, and only name and proper
nouns should be capitalized.
Name your program mad_libs.py.
Demonstration of Correctness
Start a fresh Python shell. Run your program in the shell
at least three times, with inputs that demonstrate the
features of your program. Save your shell to a text file
named interactions.py.
Deliverables
By the due date and time, submit:
- interactions.py
- mad_libs.py
Use
the on-line submission system.
Make sure that your program meets
the course programming standards.
